Love is in the air...

I recently reunited with a past love...

Isn't he gorgeous? And quite handy as well!

The last few weeks, I have been stichin up a storm! Who knows how long this fling will last, but I'm hoping to get as much out of this love affair as possible!

You already saw these:

And this cutie:

But here's my newest creation! It's a beauty!

THE PEA POD CARRIER! I am quite tickled with myself :) And Gabe is definitely impressed!

It even works as a kitty carrier! Bahahaha!

Project Reveal I

Here is the first of a series of projects we have done around our house. A few weeks ago I blogged about some updates I was hoping to make to give our house more character. Well, we have made some progress!

Here we go:

With help from my lovely in-laws, we have updated ALL of the bathrooms with a coat (or 3) of paint. In the downstairs bathroom and guest Gaber's I went with a bold green. I was in a bold mood and just went with it! And I really like it. Sorry the pictures are a little hard to see...

Here is the master bathroom that is now a beautiful grey!

We also added a shelf in my laundry room to help with the clutter! Pretty spectacular if you ask me!

The last reveal of this post is my rocking chair update. First of all, I must tell the background story of this chair. It was a gift from my brother Scott and his wife Tina before we had Gabe. I love this chair! It's great and has been wonderful for those nights when Gabe is a little  terror  challenging. However, the chair and I have a love/hate relationship. One reason is that our cats also love this chair. Like "spend 20 of the 24 hours of the day curled up in it" kind of love. The mircofiber on the chair not only shows the cat hair, but I swear it is a magnet that collects any cat hair shed on the entire 2nd floor! Worst part: I knew better. I did not heed the warnings that said microfiber and fur do not mix well. It was such a nice, pretty chair that I took a chance...

The second aspect of my love/hate relationship is also my fault. Sometime in the first month haze of having Gabe, the chair and I had a bit of a throw-down. Ok, I mean the chair literally threw me down. It was dark, I was sleep deprived, and went to get the baby monitor, which for some dumb reason was plugged in on the far side of the bed. Well, I tripped over the ottoman and crashed. I split the wood base of the cushion in half, leaving the ottoman un-usable. Ooops. (The monitor has since been moved.)

Well, all is fixed! HOORAY! Jeff cut a new piece of wood to replace the cracked base, and in the process, I decided it could use a recovering. There was actually nothing professional about the recovering (I was in a instant gratification type of mood) so I will not bore you with pictures of the process. Basicially, I created a slip-cover for the chair cushions that can be taken off and washed! And it is oh so purdy!

And yes, I meant for the chevron pattern to go opposite directions. Ok, I didn't mean for it to happen, but there was only enough fabric for it to happen this way, so I knew it was going to happen ;) which is basically the same as meaning for it to happen!

I know it's Friday, but I honestly tried to post this yesterday, but Blogger was being silly. Sorry to keep you all waiting, constantly hitting the refresh button on your screen. Ha!

Project Time...

Things have been pretty busy around the Schmelzer house! The last few days, I have been in project heaven! I have just a few things up in the air. HA! My house is currently a disaster, but soon it will be oh so purdy!!

Here's a glimpse just to tease you all...

First of all, I have a furniture redo in process (exciting) but see that stack of boards in the corner...big plans for those.

Another project uses a little of this. Any guesses?

Sidenote: I sent Noah to Hobby Lobby with Gabe to buy this fabric... He's a catch :)

Here's one last little taste... Are you as excited as me?!?

And here's a project I actually have finished. I found this tutorial on craftinessisnotoptional.com, and am now in love. Might make a few (dozen) more of these goodies!!

The Bapron! (Baby Apron)

They even work as payment to your sister for watching your child all day during her SPRING BREAK!!

Adorables!!!

The models weren't very cooperative :)
