One Year Ago...

It seems crazy that a year ago we were getting married :) We've had a great year, and are ready for our next adventure. Last night when we were out celebrating, we decided that it was good of us to get a year of marriage under our belt before diving into the unknown...haha!

Let's take a trip back to July 24, 2010...

It really was a GREAT day :)

I hate Moving...

Packing has begun. I hate it, but I want to be able to sort and organize as I go, so I decided to start early. Odin and Bella are great helpers...

Packing is hard work...just ask Bella!

Table and Chairs Facelift

Ever since Noah and I inherited our kitchen table and chairs, an idea has been floating around in my mind. The table and chairs are very nice and sturdy, just not exactly exciting looking. So I finally took the plunge and am VERY happy with the result!

I decided to paint the legs and backs of the chairs and table, but leave the table top and chair seats their original color. I went back and forth whether to paint them black or white, but ultimately chose black (and very happy I did). I did use quite a bit of painters tape in the process ~ but I didn't want my plan to be foiled by poor taping :)

Chairs primed, ready to go!

TA DA! Aren't they beautiful!!

4th Fun!

Happy Independence Day! We had a great day of swimming, eating, bags playing, and lots of laughing with the Billups family. Meghan and Craig were wonderful hosts and we can't wait til next year :)

P.S. Next year we will pack SPF 70...apparently 50 is not enough for this Irish girl!!

JULY?!? (said in a excited yet slightly panicked voice)

I guess we knew it would come...July. Our last month in Rockford. And although we are VERY, VERY excited to be moving back to Iowa, we still have lots of question marks. But before we look too far forward, lets take a quick look back at the last few years. Lots has happened in this time! LOTS!

These are at our first tiny apartment in Rockford. Noah and Odin had lived there for a while before us girls arrived and changed their lives forever ;)

Rock Cut State Park. Noah "It's like Narnia in here!" Haha!

Bella's favorite spot in the little house!

Christmas Time! Look at our little family :) And three generations of Schmelzer's...You would  never guess they're related.

The house upon our return from our honeymoon. Yes, those are our wedding table decorations :)

Noah and I taking in our first game at Wrigley Field! And they won...that game, although not many other.

Odie and I snuggled up for "SNOWMAGEDON", the worst snowstorm on record.

We had lots of visitors in the few years. Here's Mom, Molly, Ellie, Cecilia and I in Chicago. And Grill Master Noah feeding us upon our return home :)

Although we missed Iowa, we did a pretty good job making Rockford home. We have lots of memories here that we will treasure forever.
