Back to School

Well, we made it through week one! It was a busy one at that. My school went 1:1 iPads this fall which is exciting and challenging at the same time! So far so good! Baby had a good week as well. We are tired by the end of the day, but overall feeling good! I went to the Dr. this morning and everything is right on track. He has the hiccups a lot lately which is fun, but a bit uncomfortable at times... Space is getting a little cramped for our little man but hopefully it's cozy enough that he is content for a few more weeks!

Summer Fun

Back to school is right around the corner...Monday to be exact. I spent last week getting my room ready and preparing for the coming year. It has been a little stressful, considering Lil' Man could make his appearance fairly soon and I'm not quite ready for my sub, but everything will come together I am sure :) HA! Let's hope God doesn't need a laugh anytime soon...

In the meantime, we have finished the summer with some excitement. First of all, we spent a little time at the Iowa State Fair. Scott and Tina have a stellar camping spot and has become a tradition to spend a night or two at the fair. This year Mom, Ellie, Cece and I all stayed the night and went to the fair on opening day! After a summer of heat, we couldn't have had better weather for our day. 

The girls loved finding all the ice cream cones scattered around the fair.

While at the fair we got some very exciting news! The girls were big sisters! Molly had her baby girl, Maggie Vera that afternoon (August 9 at 3:13) We were able to make a visit that night!

What's New...

Where in the world did July go? The month seemed to fly by. I can't exactly say that I have been busy - I spend most of my days in the air conditioning, but we have had some fun happenings in the last month. So here's a quick update on what's new with the Schmelzers.

We started off the month with the purchase of a new lawn mower... Exciting, I know! Due to the drought we actually only used it once the entire month of July, but it did a wonderful job cutting off the dead grass and weeds :)

Noah has been involved with a few different rec leagues this summer. He plays softball on Sundays and soccer most Wednesdays. This year, a group got together to form a soccer team for the Iowa Games. They ended up winning silver for their bracket! Not bad Old Man :) And I give myself the title of "Number One Awesome Fan" for sitting in the heat!

Last weekend we spent some quality time with family and friends celebrating the marriage of cousin Josh and Becca! It was a GREAT time! There was lots of love, laughter, dancing, and bellies :) We do weddings right! Molly has a ton more pictures on her blog here.

We have also spent a lot of time this month putting the finishing touches on Baby Boy's room. My goal is to have it complete before I head back to school. It's not quite there yet, so you'll have to wait a little longer for the final pictures, but I really like how it is turning out!
